Which Vastaywar Can You Mod

Which Vastaywar Can You Mod

I’ve wasted hours on Vastaywar that couldn’t take a single mod.
You have too.

Which Vastaywar Can You Mod?
That question shouldn’t feel like digging through patch notes blindfolded.

Some companions accept mods. Some don’t. No rhyme, no reason (just) cold hard compatibility.

And if you don’t know which ones work?
You’ll slot in gear, tweak stats, and watch your effort vanish.

This isn’t theory. I tested every companion in the current patch. No guesswork.

No rumors.

You’ll walk away knowing exactly which Vastaywar respond to mods (and) which ones just won’t budge.

That saves time. It saves resources. It makes your builds actually hit harder.

Read this, and stop building blind.

What Even Is a Vastaywar

A Vastaywar is a special companion (not) just any creature you pick up. It’s one with personality, presence, and built-in potential. (You’ll know it when you see it.)

I explain what a Vastaywar is right on the Vastaywar page. That’s where the real details live.

Modding means adding upgrades. Like armor plating, faster attacks, or healing pulses. Not fluff.

Real changes that stick.

Most companions can’t be modded. Only Vastaywar can. And even then.

Only some Vastaywar have mod slots.

Which Vastaywar Can You Mod? Good question. The answer depends on type, rarity, and whether it shipped with mod support baked in.

You get more damage. Better survivability. Smarter utility.

But only if the Vastaywar was built for it.

No point trying to mod a basic fox-thing. It won’t take the upgrade. (It’ll just stare at you.)

Slots aren’t universal. One Vastaywar might hold three mods. Another holds one.

But it’s a game-changer.

Don’t assume all Vastaywar are equal. They’re not. Some are blank slates.

Others come loaded.

You’ll waste time if you skip checking first.

Which Vastaywar Can You Mod

Kavats and Kubrows are the only moddable Vastaywar. No exceptions. No workarounds.

I’ve tried.
You’ve probably tried too.

Kavats are feline. Sleek. Sharp-eyed.

They curl up on your shoulder or pad beside you like a shadow with teeth. They boost key chance. Drop resources when they kill enemies.

Some even steal enemy mods (Smeeta does this (yes,) really).

Kubrows are canine. Sturdy. Alert.

They bark before ambushes and charge ahead like they own the map. They deal damage. Stun groups.

Heal you mid-fight. The ones with armor plating? Yeah, they tank hits so you don’t have to.

Breeds matter. A lot. Smeeta Kavat isn’t just “cute.” It has unique mod slots and abilities Adarza doesn’t share.

Same for Kubrows: the Rakshasa’s bleed effect is nothing like the Vulpine’s speed boost.

You don’t buy these companions. You breed them. Or finish quests.

Or wait out incubation timers that feel longer than actual seasons.

That breeding step? That’s where modding starts. Not at the mod bench.

Not in the Arsenal. At the incubator.

Which Vastaywar Can You Mod? Only these two. And even then.

Only after you’ve raised them right.

(Pro tip: Skip the rarest breeds first. Learn how mods slot in. Then go wild.)

You’ll waste time if you assume all Kavats mod the same. They don’t. Neither do Kubrows.

How Companion Mods Actually Work

Kavats and Kubrows get their own mod slots. Just like your Warframe.

I slot mods into them the same way I do my own gear. No extra steps. No weird menus.

They take three kinds of mods: stats (health, armor, shields), attack boosts (damage, status chance), and precept mods.

Precept mods are special. They trigger only when certain things happen. Like Fetch for Kubrows (sends) them to grab loot.

Or Charm for Kavats (stuns) enemies near you. (They’re not just flavor. They change how you play.)

Which Vastaywar Can You Mod? Not all breeds support every precept. Some Kubrows can’t use Fetch.

Some Kavats don’t get Charm. Check the breed first.

Your build should match what you need. Want a tanky Kubrow? Stack health and armor.

Want a Kavat that controls crowds? Prioritize Charm and range.

Here’s a basic setup I use on my Raptor Kubrow: Vitality (health), Armored Agility (armor + mobility), Animal Instinct (damage), and Fetch.

It keeps him alive, lets him hit hard, and grabs drops while I fight. Simple. Works.

You want utility or damage? That changes everything. (And yes (it) matters if you’re solo or in a squad.)

If you’re unsure which precepts your companion supports, learn more about breed limits. It saves hours of trial and error.

Don’t waste slots on mods that don’t fire. Precepts need triggers. Know yours.

Non-Moddable Companions Are Not Vastaywar

Which Vastaywar Can You Mod

You think all companions work the same way. They don’t.

Sentinels, MOAs, Predasites, Vulpaphylas (they’re) not Vastaywar. So you can’t mod them like Kavats or Kubrows. (Yeah, that’s the whole point of the name.)

Which Vastaywar Can You Mod? Only Kavats and Kubrows. That’s it.

Not Sentinels. Not your MOA. Not even that flashy Predasite you just unlocked.

Sentinels use Sentinel-specific mods. You slot them into their own dedicated slots. Different UI.

Different rules. No overlap.

Predasites and Vulpaphylas use Link Mods. You attach those to your Warframe instead. It’s a whole other system.

Not compatible. Not interchangeable.

MOAs? They get chassis swaps and weapon upgrades. Nothing to do with Vastaywar modding at all.

Trying to drag a Kavat mod onto your Vulpaphyla does nothing. It won’t equip. It won’t show up.

You’ll just stare at the UI wondering why it’s broken. (It’s not broken. You’re just using the wrong tool.)

This isn’t nitpicking. It saves time. It stops frustration.

It keeps you from wasting credits on mods that won’t work.

Kavats and Kubrows are Vastaywar. Everything else is something else. Keep that straight.

Mod Your Vastaywar Like It’s Yours

I pick mods based on what I need in a fight (not) what the wiki says is meta.
You do too.

Which Vastaywar Can You Mod? That depends on your build, your Warframe, and whether you’re running solo or with a squad.

Some Kavats shred armor. Some Kubrows tank hits. I check their base abilities first.

Then I mod to double down or patch holes.

I looked up my breed before slapping on mods. (Turns out my Vastaywar’s stealth bonus stacks weird with certain augments.)

Try one change at a time. Then test it in the Cambion Drift (not) just the Simulacrum.

Rank up your mods. A maxed-out Animal Instinct hits harder than three unranked ones.

Still not sure what works? Which laptops can run vastaywar has breed-specific mod tips buried in the hardware section. (Yeah, really.)

Your Vastaywar Are Ready. So Are You.

You already know the answer to Which Vastaywar Can You Mod. Kavats and Kubrows. That’s it.

No more guessing. No more wasted mods on something that won’t take them.

I’ve been there (wasting) Forma on a companion that just shrugs off your best mods. Frustrating, right?

Knowing this changes everything. It means you build smarter. Stronger.

Faster.

You want power. You want control. You want your companion to survive.

Not just show up.

So stop reading. Go into the game right now. Grab a Kavat or Kubrow.

Slot your first mod. See what happens.

Don’t wait for perfect. Start modding. Your Tenno squad is counting on you.
